On May 24, Kickoff Meeting and Seminar on Implementation Plan of “Research and Application of High Efficiency Fertilizer for Regional Grain Crops”, a project topic supported by national science and technology, was held in Sinofert headquarters.

The topic of “Research and Application of High Efficiency Specialty Fertilizer for Regional Grain Crops”is a sub-topic of “"Bohai Sea Granary" by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, targeting such issues as scarcity of fresh water and soil salinization in the middle and low yield area of Pan-Bohai Sea, focusing on making breakthroughs on key technologies with regards to soil, fertilizer, water and seed, & building demonstration zone of grain yield increase, in order to significantly enhance grain increase potentials in the middle and low yield farmland of Pan-Bohai Sea.

Ouyang Zhu from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Zhao Ming and Pang Huancheng from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Cao Yiping from China Agricultural University (CAU), & Sun Wanzeng from China Academy of Railway Sciences were hired as consultants for the topic. 30 people attended the conference, including representatives with Science and Technology Department of Sinochem Corporation and relevant departments of Sinofert, as well as R&D people from 4 organizations involved in the topic including Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of CAAS, Institute of Applied Ecology, South China Agricultural University and Sinochem Fuling.

Li Bing, Vice President of Sinofert, addressed the meeting, introducing the R&D situation in Sinofert and Sinochem, emphasizing that the involved organizations should implement the philosophy in the relevant speech by Minister Wan Gang of Ministry of Science and Technology of China, & enhancing the cooperation between industry and R&D, so as to comprehensively fulfill the assessment index of the topic.
