On Mar. 19, 2015, Sinofert, as one of the major negotiators of the Chinese buying committee, together with other major negotiating companies reached an agreement on the 2015 potash import price with Belarusian Potash Company, a representative of the global suppliers. By now, the contact price of potash import for 2015 has been finally agreed.
It is understood that this result is achieved after nearly 5 months of hard efforts. The 2015 potash import price is agreed upon as CFR $315/ton, an increase of $10/ton as compared to the contract price of 2014. The other terms and conditions remain the same as those of 2014.
This price is the lowest in the global potash market right now, making China maintain the advantage of being a “price low land”, which is helpful for stabilizing the domestic potash market, providing high quality and low price fertilizer to farmers and fertilizer plants, and guaranteeing agricultural production and national food security.
